Questions to Ask Your Orthodontist on Your First Visit
Here are few things to find out at your first visit:
- What options will work for my teeth?
- How long will I wear them?
- How do I take care of my teeth while they're on?
- How often will I need to come in for an office visit?
- How much will they cost?
- Does your office offer payment plans?
- Do you accept my insurance?
- What happens after I get them off?

Every Smile Starts With An Initial Consultation!
Your initial consultation will give you the opportunity to meet our team, learn more about orthodontics, receive a complete initial exam, and find out which treatment options will best meet your needs.
Our team will be glad to answer any questions you may have, and we will provide all the information you need to determine which treatment is right for you. Please contact our practice to schedule your initial consultation.
During Your First Visit, We Will:
- Review your dental and medical history forms
- Perform a complete oral exam with X-rays to determine whether treatment is necessary
- Create a customized treatment plan
- Discuss all financial information, insurance options and payment plans
- In most cases can start treatment the same day as the initial consultation if it does not conflict with your schedule
What Happens After The Initial Consultation?
After your consultation, our staff will schedule your first appointment. Often this appointment can be immediately after your consultation. During your next appointment, Dr. Hessamfar will either place your braces or take an impression for your custom made appliance/ Invisalign. This appointment generally takes an hour, and during this time our team will make sure you are as comfortable as possible.
Scheduling Appointments
Visiting the orthodontist about every four to eight weeks is an important part of your orthodontic treatment. We will work with you to make sure your appointments are as convenient as possible. Did you know that you can schedule an appointment online?
We schedule our longer appointments in the mid-day when the doctor has the required time to spend exclusively with you. When you schedule an appointment, please let us know which days and times work best for you.
We understand that “special circumstances can arise”! If you’re running late or need to reschedule, please let us know and we will do everything we can to accommodate you. When you’re ready to schedule your first appointment, contact our practice and our friendly scheduling coordinator will assist you. We’re looking forward to working with you.
Visiting The Dentist During Orthodontic Treatment
It is very important that you continue to visit your family dentist once every six months for teeth cleanings and routine dental checkups, even during your orthodontic treatment. If extra dental care is needed, we will be happy to coordinate with your family dentist to make sure you receive the best possible care.
